In a Cabinet meeting chaired by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday, approval was granted for the Integrated District Project Fund and District Project Fund schemes.
With this Cabinet nod, these funds will enable small but essential development projects across government districts to be completed with ease and without bureaucratic hurdles. A total provision of ₹53 crore has been made for the schemes.

Chief Minister Gupta said the initiative is based on the good governance mantra of “Perform, Reform, and Transform”, emphasizing that the government aims to decentralize the system so that development projects can be executed swiftly at every level.
Elaborating on the schemes, Gupta stated that they will accelerate grassroots-level development across the national capital and help ensure the swift and effective delivery of basic services to citizens.
The objective of the funds is to provide financial support for development projects focused on infrastructure, community amenities, and social welfare, Gupta further stated.
According to the CM, these funds will support a wide range of projects such as roads, schools, dispensaries, and community centers. The scheme aims to identify local needs, plan relevant projects, and allocate resources for their execution at the ground level.
Implementation of the projects will be carried out through departments like the PWD, Irrigation and Flood Control, and MCD, among others, with the aim of benefiting residents across all districts.
Types of works to be undertaken as part of the initiative include minor repairs related to roads, bridges, and other public structures such as district revenue offices. Repairs to community centers, panchayat houses, and other public amenities will also be included.
Maintenance of cow shelters, street lights, CCTV cameras, drains, pond rejuvenation, and projects related to education and health will also be covered, the CM added.
She clarified that the scheme is entirely funded by the Delhi government, which has allocated ₹53 crore in total—₹20 crore for the Integrated District Project Fund and ₹33 crore for the District Project Fund. This means each district in the city will receive ₹3 crore for local projects.
The scheme will be administered by a Project Approval Committee (PAC), with the District Magistrate (DM) serving as the Chairperson and the Additional District Magistrate (ADM) as the Member Secretary.
Other members will include the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Headquarters), the Block Development Officer (BDO), the senior-most Accounts Officer, and a representative from the beneficiary department.
According to the CM, this model will ensure transparency and faster execution of small but necessary projects.
