In a statement, the party said the names of the candidates were announced in accordance with the instructions of the BJP national president.

The BJP has named Pravesh Wahi as its mayoral candidate, while Monika Pant has been nominated for the Deputy Mayor’s post. Wahi is concurrently serving as the Leader of the House.

The party has also nominated Jai Bhagwan Yadav and Manish Chaddha as candidates for the Standing Committee. The polls for these positions are scheduled for April 29.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, in a post on X, congratulated Pravesh Wahi and Monika Pant on being declared candidates for the Mayor and Deputy Mayor elections in the civic body.
Gupta expressed hope that by embracing the BJP’s vision and the mantra of Antyodaya, the leaders’ experience and diligence will take Delhi’s development to new heights.
“Through your efforts, the municipal administration will succeed in fulfilling the hopes and aspirations of Delhi’s residents,” she added.
