CM Gupta affirms her govt’s resolve to make Delhi truly ‘Sugamya Delhi

Formally launching the Sugamya Delhi Abhiyan on the Central Vista premises on Kartavya Path here on Wednesday, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta affirmed the state government’s commitment to providing all necessary facilities for persons with disabilities.

On the occasion, Rekha Gupta flagged off the NAMO Sugamya Rath and announced a new scheme of her government for the persons with disabilities while informing that the caregivers of the specially-abled, who require special assistance, will now be provided with financial support of Rs 6,000 per month.

According to the CM, the objective of this scheme is to ensure that the persons with disabilities receive the necessary assistance in their daily lives and are able to live with dignity.

She further assured that her government would ensure that all facilities required for a comfortable life are made available to the persons with disabilities. The Delhi government is committed to fulfilling every demand and suggestion put forth by them.

She emphasised that when the nation celebrates the centenary of independence, it is the government’s resolve to make Delhi a fully ‘Sugamya Delhi’ (Accessible Delhi).

Every site, every destination, and every public place in Delhi will be made accessible and convenient for persons with disabilities, Gupta added.

BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh, the party’s secretary of the Social Justice Department Rajesh Agrawal, along with several other leaders and distinguished dignitaries were present on the occasion.
