Centre government has decided to constitute a committee under NITI Aayog Chief Executive Officer to prepare roadmap for a new Industrial Policy for Himachal Pradesh, North Eastern and other Himalayan states of the country.
Informing about the decision, BJP MP from Shimla Virender Kashyap said the Union Minister for Commerce told this in reply to his question in Lok Sabha.
The Committee would consist of Secretaries of Ministries/Departments of Development of North Eastern Region, Expenditure, Commerce, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Micro Small and Medium Enterprise, Textiles, Tourism, Health and Family Welfare, Power and Industrial Policy and Promotion, he said.
“The Union Minister said Special Package Schemes are available in the states of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand till March 31, 2017 and for the state of Jammu & Kashmir upto June 14, 2017. Further, there is no report of closure of  industrial units due to heavy losses in Himachal Pradesh and other hilly states after benefits under special package were stopped,” Kashyap added.
