Before the smog season grips Delhi and the NCR, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) gathered students, officials, and residents in Ghaziabad for a two-day workshop on tackling air pollution.

According to an official document, to provide clean, safe, and walkable streets and clean air in the region, trainings were imparted to different stakeholders, including government officials, enforcement agencies, and engineers, offering lessons on sustainable road design and dust control measures.

To spread the message in the wider society, the two-day event featured several engaging activities on the second day of the workshop held at Kendriya Vidyalaya Road, Kamla Nehru Nagar, Ghaziabad.

CAQM officials noted that school, college students, and the local community, were informed about the central role of cleaner and safer streets to make cities breathable through a range of activities such as, dust and garbage collection drives, a street play on clean air and green streets, and a collaborative art wall.

The pollution control agency partnered with Raahgiri foundation for the workshop, which also hosted interactive zones — including AQI corner, “Know Your Tree” drive, and health awareness stalls.
