Health and Family Welfare Minister, Vipin Singh Parmar said the approval for 400 posts of doctors was a big step in strengthening the health services in Himachal Pradesh.
Out of 400 doctors, 200 will be Allopathic and other 200 Ayurvedic.
He said that the government will provide adequate staff in all the health institutions in the state in a phased manner so that health facilities were improved and available to the common man nearer to their homes.

He said the government will also strengthen health infrastructure for better health services.
Health minister directed officers of Ayurveda Department for initiating recruitment of Ayurvedic Doctors at the earliest and added that all the 400 posts will be filled up in stipulated time.
He said Medical College Hamirpur will also be made functional at the earliest.
He asked senior officers of health department to make regular inspections of health institutions in their respective areas so that better services could be provided to common man in the state.
