The Rourkela Ispat Trust (RIT) and Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Limited (AHEL) entered into a contract on December 20, 2022, for the management and operation of the Ispat Post Graduate and Super Specialty Hospital. Rourkela Ispat Trust (RIT) was represented by Mr. Atanu Bhowmick, Director In-Charge, Mr. P.K. Satapathy, ED (P&A), Mr. K. Ravichandran, Sr. VP – (AHEL), and Mr. A. K. Behuria, CGM In-Charge (F&A), whereas the AHEL was represented by Mr. R. Krishnakumar, Finance Controller (AHEL), Mr (Apollo – Bhubaneswar)

On February 1, 2023, the hospital will be handed over to Apollo Hospitals on a “as is, where is” basis. While on March 1, 2023, AHEL will fully take over operations and maintenance. The hospital currently includes super specialised facilities for 5 different medical specialties, including cardiology, cardio thoracic & Vascular Surgery (CTVS), Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Nephrology. The Hospital will also provide Health care services in the stated specialities under Govt Schemes like CGHS and BSKY.

It is worth mentioning here that, 300-bed state of the art hospital equipped with avant-garde medical equipment and advanced facilities, was dedicated to the nation by the then Hon’ble President of India, on 21st March 2021. The ‘Rourkela Ispat Trust’ (RIT) was constituted for managing the hospital and selecting an O&M partner. Accordingly a tender was floated and the Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Limited was selected as the O&M partner.

With a leading health care service provider of the country like AHEL, having an experience of 39 years, managing it, the Hospital is all set to provide quality health care service at affordable cost to not only the people of Rourkela, but also to the residents of neighbouring districts and states. The facility will be a boon to the patients of the area who were forced to travel around 400 KM distance for getting better treatment.

This hospital has reinforced the commitment of Rourkela Steel Plant and Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd. to ensure best of healthcare services to all its stake holders.
