The incident was reported when Shalu (23), a wrestler, and her friend Garima, a boxer, were on their way to Kailash Prakash Sports Stadium for their morning training session.

Accompanied by Soni, her Jija, Vijay and his friend came in a motorcycle and threw acid on Shalu and Garima.

Shalu received 20 percent burn injuries on her back and Garima sustained acid injuries on her elbow. They were immediately rushed to a private hospital for treatment.
