Thirteen persons were killed while eleven others suffered injuries in separate road accidents in Himachal Pradesh on Monday.

In the first incident, six persons including a woman and child were killed after the vehicle in which they were travelling got buried under the debris of a massive landslide in Rampur area of Shimla district.

Police said the incident might have taken place on Sunday night but the incident came to light on Monday morning when the locals noticed the car buried under debris of landslide.

The locals informed the police after rescue teams were rushed to the spot which had recovered the bodies of six victims.

In the second incident, six members of a marriage party were killed while eight others suffered injuries after the vehicle they were travelling in fell into gorge near Sundernagar area of Mandi district.

olice said the incident took place on Monday morning when fourteen persons were returning home in Ambala in Haryana after attending a marriage in NerChowk area of Mandi district.

The driver lost control over the vehicle near Kangu in Sundernagar and it fell into gorge. “Four persons died on the spot while two of them succumbed to the injuries in hospital. The injured persons are presently undergoing treatment at the hospital and one of them, whose condition is said to serious, has been referred to PGIMER Chandigarh,” police said.

The deceased included three women and all of them were the residents of Ambala in Haryana and Rupnagar district of Punjab.

In another incident, a 5-year-old boy was killed and two others suffered injuries after the bus in which they travelling in turned turtle in Banjar area of Kullu district.

The driver of the bus lost control over the vehicle near Thatibir valley in Banjar area after which it turned turtle. “The injured which includes the driver of the bus were rushed to hospital where a child, identified as Sunil Kumar was declared brought dead,” police said.

Meanwhile, the injured are undergoing treatment at the hospital and their condition is said to be stable. Further investigations in the cases are on.
