The much-awaited Junior Sports Bonanza of the Springdales School Dhaula Kuan was held on Friday in the presence of former cricketer Ajay Ratra and former Tennis player Ankita Bhambri.

More than 1,100 young athletes from nursery to Class took part in the sports event held on the school playground.

Ritu Madan, principal of the school, greeted the audience, guests and parents gathered in large numbers to witness the performance of the schoolchildren on the sports front.

The Sports Bonanza commenced with the release of balloons in the sky followed by a vibrant and energetic display of physical skills in the sports events such as “Working on the Farm”, “Tambourine Tango”, “Hello Spring”, “Fantastic Elastic” and “Holi Hai !” which held them spellbound.

The little defenders showcased daredevil feats in taekwondo with scintillating dexterity and precision. Various track events including flat races, obstacles, and mixed relays were organised with exuberance. Fun races for the tiny tots added to the lively atmosphere.

Ratra and Bhambri lauded the young athletes for putting up a spectacular show. They reiterated that sports activities inculcate discipline, camaraderie, team spirit, and sportsmanship.

Sujata Maleyvar, the headmistress, proposed the vote of thanks and congratulated the young Springdalians for their stellar performance.
