“Structural reforms, technological advancements, and the Yogi Adityanath government’s ‘Ease of Doing Business’ initiatives have propelled the growth of liquor, beer, wine, and alcohol-based industries. The sale of 105.25 crore liters within the state and 40.96 crore liters outside the state has cemented Uttar Pradesh’s position as a reliable center for ethanol supply,” an official said.

Uttar Pradesh has now established itself as one of the leading ethanol-producing states in the country. This achievement has not only encouraged industries but has also boosted economic activity, especially at the rural level.

In the state, investors ranging from large corporate groups to medium-scale industries are expanding their projects in the alcohol-based industrial sector.

Uttar Pradesh Excise Commissioner Dr Adarsh Singh stated that under Invest UP, 125 agreements have been signed so far, under which investments worth ₹3,07,35 crore are underway.

Additionally, 43 ready-to-launch projects have already been allotted land. Through these initiatives, investments worth ₹6,898.88 crore are currently being processed.

He added that under Invest UP, 19 projects are currently operational, with investments exceeding ₹2,900 crore, generating more than 4,800 jobs. Under non-MoU agreements, 28 projects are operational with an investment of ₹2,752 crore.

Overall, investment proposals in the excise sector are expected to create over 9,940 job opportunities.
