Tata Global Beverages today reported a 44 per cent rise in its consolidated net profit at Rs 112 crore for the quarter ended 30 June 2013, compared to a profit of Rs 77.69 crore for the corresponding quarter of 2012.
The company&’s consolidated total income from operations at Rs 1,813 crore is 5 per cent higher than the corresponding period of the previous year reflecting improved performance in most major businesses.
Profit before exceptional items at Rs 176 crore is 15 per cent higher than the corresponding period of the previous year reflecting underlying performance and the impact of cost interventions. The company continues to create new experience for consumers of tea, coffee and water categories through its exciting products, strategic alliances and innovative marketing campaigns, says a company statement.
Mr Harish Bhat, managing director and CEO of Tata Global Beverages, said: “We are happy to report steady growth in a very competitive global market… We will also invest behind our brands, including Tetley, Tata Tea, Eight O’Clock Coffee, Tata Water Plus and Himalayan water.
