As a major relief to the distraught farmers of India, country’s largest producer of fertiliser has taken a decision to keep the prices of fertilisers unchanged despite release of revised subsidy rates for the new financial year, 2017-18.

In an announcement by Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO), known for benefiting millions of remotest farmers, said that the company will not raise the prices of DAK, NPK and phosphatic fertilisers.

‏“IFFCO is always committed for the benefit of farmers. It's objective is to provide fertilisers to farmers at affordable cost,” stated Dr US Awasthi, Managing Director & CEO, IFFCO in his tweet.

Dr US Awasthi also said, “IFFCO will not raise any prices for DAP, NPK, Phosphatic Fertilisers. Step for benefit of farmers.”

The decision came on April 5, amid reports that fertiliser companies may now raise potash prices following a 20 per cent cut in subsidies by the government for 2017-18 fiscal year.
