The Mohan Charan Majhi-led BJP Government in Odisha spent a whopping Rs 83.84 crore on advertisements after it came to power last year.

The sum has been spent through newspapers, television news channels, radio channels, web channels, community radio centres, and advertisement hoardings, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi told the Assembly in a written reply.

Since July 2024, Rs 69.78 crore was spent towards advertisement in newspapers while breakup of advertisement expenditure paid towards different media is TV channels (Rs 9.35 crore), Radio channels (Rs 2.14 crore), Web channels (Rs 1.87 crore), Community radio centres (Rs 12.70 lakh) and advertisement hoardings (Rs 39.32 lakh).
