IEM – UEM students of the University of Engineering and Management have won the 1st and 2nd prizes in the YuvAI project competition in the India AI impact summit 2026 in Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi from 20,000 project participations.
UEM Kolkata was the only university that grabbed two prizes in this world’s biggest AI summit, 2026.

The first prize (Rs 15 lakh + Ray-Ban Meta AI Glasses) was awarded to AGNISENA – Early Forest Fire Detection and Communication System, an AI-enabled solution designed for real-time forest fire detection and rapid emergency communication to minimize environmental damage and loss.

The second prize (Rs 10 lakh) was secured by the team behind Early Dysarthria Prediction using Explainable AI (XAI), an innovative healthcare solution that enables early identification of dysarthria through interpretable machine learning models, supporting better clinical decision-making.
Both prizes were presented by Ashwini Vaishnaw, minister of railways, information & broadcasting, and electronics & information technology, and Jitin Prasada, Union minister of state for commerce and industry, recognising the outstanding innovation and societal impact of these student-led projects.
Both projects were developed by 3rd-year undergraduate students and are outcomes of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Center (IEDC) of the IEM-UEM Group, reflecting the institution’s commitment to research-driven innovation at the undergraduate level.
