Student found dead in Kolkata school

According to police, the girl who is said to be a brilliant student had complained about a headache after the sixth period was over at around 1.30 p.m and went to the washroom.

Mystery shrouds the death of a class X student of GD Birla Centre for Education in south Kolkata after her blood splattered body with the vein slit was recovered from the school’s washroom this afternoon. A three-page suicide note was also recovered from the site.

According to police, the girl who is said to be a brilliant student had complained about a headache after the sixth period was over at around 1.30 p.m and went to the washroom.

But when after more than an hour she did not return to the class, alarmed school authorities went for a search and finally found her in the washroom after breaking open the door as it was bolted from inside.

She was found lying in a pool of blood with her mouth covered with a plastic sheet. She was immediately rushed to a Jodhpur Park nursing home, where she was declared brought dead

The school authorities informed the Jadavpur Police Station about the incident immediately. Later, a team of officers from the homicide wing of the Detective Department at Lalbazar visited the spot. Police did not rule out homicide.
