Mamata wants govt that is soft on terrorism: Nadda
BJP national president JP Nadda today alleged that the Mamata Banerjee-led West Bengal government is a “terrorist sympathiser" and wants a central government that is "soft on terrorism".
Within two months of joining the Bharatiya Janata Party, former mayor and Trinamul heavyweight, Sovan Chatterjee, today visited the residence of chief minister Mamata Banerjee, on the auspicious occasion of ‘Bhai Phonta’. It is learnt that Sovan Chatterjee along with Baisakhi Banerjee went to CM’s residence on the pretext of taking ‘Bhai Phonta’ from Mamata Banerjee.
Chatterjee, however, said: “We did not discuss anything about politics. Didi enquired about my health and asked me to take care of my health.” The sudden visit of Mr Chatterjee to the chief minister’s house has made speculations rife that Sovan and his friend Baisakhi will soon return to Trinamul Congress. Today’s visit to chief minister’s residence has prompted the political analysts to predict that Sovan Chatterjee may return to Trinamul since he and Baisakhi were not at all happy in BJP.
It may be noted that Sovan Chatterjee and Baisakhi Banerjee had joined BJP in August in the presence of the BJP Central leadership in Delhi. Over time, however, Sovan Chatterjee has developed an apparent cold relation with the BJP over one issue or the other. Baisakhi Banerjee had too gone public against the Bharatiya Janata Party leadership, citing humiliation to her and his friend, Sovan Chatterjee.
