Preliminary investigation suggests that the accused had been residing in a village in Suti for a considerable period of time. Investigators are now probing how they allegedly entered the country and whether they have links to any cross-border network involved in illegal infiltration.
Local residents claimed that although the individuals had been living in the area for a long time, there had been uncertainty regarding their actual identities. Acting on specific intelligence inputs, police conducted a search operation and detained them. Following document verification, two individuals were formally arrested.
A case has been registered under relevant legal provisions, and further interrogation is underway. Police are also examining possible links to illegal cross-border infiltration networks operating in the border belt.
