Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to initiate his Lok Sabha Election 2024 campaign in West Bengal from the first of next month, unveiling a comprehensive plan of rallies starting from Arambagh before moving to Barasat.
According to reports from Delhi BJP sources, Mr Modi is scheduled to address a rally in Arambagh on 1 March, targeting the current TMC stronghold. Arambagh’s sitting MP, Aparupa Poddar, faces a challenge as neighbouring Hooghly is a strong support base for BJP, led by MP Locket Chatterjee. The Lok Sabha election schedule is expected to be announced in March, with voting likely to commence in early April. Ahead of the official announcement, political parties are actively engaging in pre-campaign activities.
While TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee is touring districts, emphasising government projects’ service delivery, BJP is gearing up for an intensive campaign. According to the BJP’s Delhi unit, Narendra Modi will address a rally in Arambagh on 1 March and then return to Delhi. Mr Modi is also expected to visit Krishnanagar on 2 March. Thereafter, on 6 March, he will be in Barasat, with a massive gathering expected at Kachari Maidan, where victims from Sandeshkali could meet him.

The political landscape is heating up as both TMC and BJP are actively shaping their campaign narratives. TMC’s Mamata Banerjee is emphasizing her government’s achievements, while BJP, under the leadership of state president Sukanta Majumdar, is preparing for a robust campaign.
