BSF eastern command celebrates forces’ raising day

The Border Security Force (BSF) is celebrating its 61st Raising Day today, marking six decades of exceptional service in securing India’s borders and maintaining National Security. Raised in 1965 in the aftermath of the Indo-Pakistan War, the BSF has been entrusted with the responsibility to guard India’s borders with Pakistan and Bangladesh.

One killed, two hurt as tractor collides with goods train

Bhutka Soren (35), a resident of Sisir Danga, under Jamuria police station, was killed and two others injured when a brick-laden tractor, while allegedly trespassing on the railway track near Barabani under the Andal–Topsi–Barabani section of Asansol Division, collided with a moving goods train.
