Heritage bookstore in College St set to open new outlet
Dasgupta, the well-known heritage bookstore in the city, is going to open its outlet in south Kolkata on 1 May.
Tangra police arrested a man for eve-teasing a 26-year-old woman after she lodged a complaint against him. According to police the woman, a resident of Sonali Park area under Regent Park police station, dialled the number 100 and claimed she had been abused in front of Sura Cross Lane near Trikone Park at Phoolbagan area at around 5.40 p.m. on Saturday.
The local police swung into action after being informed about the incident by Lalbazar and arrested the accused person from his residence. He has been identified as Gobindo Bhuniya, a resident of DC Dey Road in Tangra. Later, a case pertaining to IPC section 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) was registered against the accused at Beliaghata police station.
