Mamata remembers martyrdom of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday remembered freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev on the 87th anniversary of their martyrdom.

The Chief Minister in a tweet said, “Solemnly remembering the revolutionaries Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev, on the anniversary of their martyrdom”.

Tributes for the three freedom fighters poured in from all over India. Union Ministers and leaders from Punjab were among those who remembered the sacrifice of three of India’s greatest sons.

Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev were hanged by the British on 23 March 1931 at Lahore Jail following their conviction in the Lahore conspiracy case. At the time of their deaths, Bhagat Singh and Sukhdev Thapar were 23 each, and Shivaram Hari Rajguru was 22.
