Four people from West Burdwan district were killed in a road accident at Belda near Kharagpur while on their way to Digha after their SUV collided head on with a truck in the wee hours today.

Four people from West Burdwan district were killed in a road accident at Belda near Kharagpur while on their way to Digha after their SUV collided head on with a truck in the wee hours today.
Of the deceased, two are residents of Asansol and are identified as Kartik Lahari and Himadri Sekhar Patra, Biswaajit Mondal, Atanu Guha, all of them stayed at Ananya Housing Complex in Asansol. Though originally two of them were from Asansol and two others were from Durgapur.

Kharagpur police have sent the bodies recovery to nearby hospital for post-mortem. Prima facie it seems that it was raining and the SUV driver was driving very fast and lost control and crashed at the truck coming from the opposite direction.

The impact of the collision was so intense that the front portion of the SUV was completely mangled. Rescue work was launched with the police and locals.
Police have started investigations in this incident.
