Fire breaks out in residential apartment in Delhi, 2 injured
According to Delhi Fire Services (DFS) Director Atul Garg, a call was received at 6:05/6:06 am regarding the fire in Milansar Apartment in Sector 14 in Rohini.
A fire broke out at the Lee Memorial School, located on Lenin Sarani, Kolkata, spreading to the attached hostel. Panic ensued during school hours as students and staff rushed to safety. The blaze, originating in the basement, quickly engulfed the school building, causing widespread fear and chaos. Firefighters arrived promptly, battling the flames to prevent it from further spreading.
Unfortunately, two hostel rooms suffered extensive damage in the process. The aftermath revealed charred remnants of various belongings in the hostel, leaving many items reduced to ashes. The school premises were evacuated, and the extent of the damage is being assessed.
Authorities have declared the school temporarily closed due to safety concerns. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire and assess the structural integrity of the affected areas. Students and faculty members are shaken by the incident, and counselling support is being arranged to help them cope with the trauma.
