Father, 2 daughters killed in road mishap

A father and his two daughters were crushed to death after their scooter came under the wheels of a speeding passenger bus in Kalna on Thursday. Faraz Mallik (54) of Uttardighi village in Kalna was heading to Kalna Superspecialty Hospital on his scooter with his daughters — Noorjahan (21) and Farhana.

At Boroswarajpur village crossing on the Kalna–Katwa road, a speeding bus on the Nabadwip–Krishnagar route suddenly appeared and the driver lost control while trying to avoid a collision. In moments, the scooter went under the wheels of the bus, killing the father and his daughters on the spot. Though the police seized the bus, the driver managed to flee.
