Mamata’s call for anti-BJP unity at Martyr’s Day rally junked by Congress, Left

West Bengal BJP staged a protest rally here today against the alleged “failure” of the state government to tackle the outbreak of dengue in the state and demanded immediate resignation of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee from the post of state health minister.
Hundreds of BJP workers marched towards Swastha Bhawan, the headquarters of state health department in Salt Lake, and demanded Banerjee’s resignation from the post of the state health minister.

The police tried to stop the BJP workers near Karunamoyee area of Salt lake by putting up barricades on the road but failed.

The BJP workers crossed the barricades and tried to enter the Swastha Bhawan with flags and posters but were dispersed by the forces, the police said.
Few BJP activists were detained, the police added.
