Today, the BJP supporters in Kanksha in West Burdwan district have evicted a TMC party office, set up illegally by grabbing a mosque land, and handed over the space to the masjid committee.

Kanksha police station went to the site today at Jhatgoria area, under Kanksha area, and handed over the land to the Igdah masjid committee in the presence of local BJP leadership.

Several times earlier, the local BJP had instructed the TMC to vacate this office but nobody came forawrd. Today several hundreds of sticks and lathis were seized from inside the TMC party office after the BJP leaders broke open the door and entered the office.
Purna Chandra Gorai, BJP mandal general secretary and booth president Mahadeb Soren, both were present during the handover of the mosque land.
Abdul Rashid, member of the Igdah masjid committee said that it was a space where Muslims used to read namaz, but since the party office was set up, religious activities were disturbed.
