Hrithik Roshan has marked 15 years since ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ released. The actor shared his thoughts on Instagram on Thursday. He posted clips from the film along with a long, personal note about what the movie meant to him.
He says the role changed him
Hrithik wrote that the film still holds a special place in his life. He said his character Arjun mirrored things he was going through personally at the time. Playing that role, he said, was not just acting work. It gave him a way to work through his own feelings.
He said the shoot helped him find himself, the same way Arjun found himself in the story. He called the whole experience “deeply transformative and cathartic” and said it turned into one of the most meaningful chapters of his career.
Gave credit to Zoya Akhtar
Hrithik also spoke about director Zoya Akhtar. He said their talks before filming showed him a director who trusted her instincts and trusted her actors. That trust, he said, gave the whole cast room to just perform without holding back.
He said her confidence let everyone stay spontaneous on set, which is what led to some of the film’s most honest moments. He thanked her for letting the team focus on enjoying the process instead of chasing perfection.
“We were just having fun”
Hrithik described the shoot as a time when the cast felt like “a bunch of fools having fun.” He said it took years for him to realize that all that fun ended up becoming a film people still connect with today.
He said they had no idea at the time that they were making something lasting. Looking back now, he calls those memories priceless, among the best of his life.
Thanks to the cast and crew
Hrithik closed his note by thanking everyone who worked on the film. He said none of it would have been possible without the right people around him.
He named his co-stars Abhay Deol, Farhan Akhtar, Katrina Kaif and Kalki Koechlin. Also, he thanked producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Zoya Akhtar, writer Reema Kagti, and lyricist Javed Akhtar. He mentioned cinematographer Carlos Catalan, music composers Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, and choreographers Bosco Caesar and Vaibhavi Merchant, along with the rest of the technical crew.
