Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) Deemed to be University here signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with global IT company Tech Mahindra Limited to establish a state-of-the-art Centre of Excellence (CoE) Laboratory at the Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER), the university’s faculty of engineering and technology.
The collaboration is aimed at strengthening industry-oriented education by bridging the gap between classroom learning and evolving corporate requirements. The Centre of Excellence will provide undergraduate and postgraduate students with access to skill-based training, internships, industry exposure, research collaborations, certification programmes and specialised upskilling initiatives.

The training modules will focus on emerging technologies that are in high demand across the IT sector, including Java Full Stack, .NET Full Stack, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Cloud Computing, Data Science, Cyber Security, Internet of Things (IoT), Salesforce, SAP, DevOps and ServiceNow.
The MoU signing and inauguration ceremony was attended by senior representatives from both organisations. Tech Mahindra was represented by Dharmaraj Nayak, Head of Global Leadership Hiring, and Michael Sudheer Yennam, Project Delivery Manager for ServiceNow Practices. SOA’s delegation included Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda, ITER Dean Dr. P. K. Sahoo, Dean (Placement) Dr. Raj Kumar Hota, Head of Career Development Cell Sumit Mitra, besides heads of various engineering and MCA departments.
The programme began with a welcome address by Dr. Hota, while Prof. Nanda highlighted SOA’s academic achievements and research growth. Speaking on the occasion, Nayak stressed the importance of closer collaboration between industry and academia to develop a highly skilled workforce capable of meeting the rapidly changing demands of the technology sector.
The event concluded with the formal exchange of the MoU between Prof. Nanda and Nayak, followed by the inauguration of the Centre of Excellence Laboratory, marking the beginning of a long-term partnership to enhance students’ employability and technical competence.
