India and Japan share a long-standing Special Strategic and Global Partnership that has expanded significantly in recent years. The two countries have intensified collaboration in infrastructure development, defence cooperation, semiconductors, digital technologies and investment, while also working closely under regional and multilateral frameworks such as the Quad to promote a free, open and inclusive Indo-Pacific. The upcoming summit is expected to review progress in bilateral ties and chart the course for deeper cooperation in key strategic sectors.
