There was a time when Priyanka Chopra’s passport was practically a filmography. Thirty films in ten years. Five or six a year at peak Bollywood. Cameos slotted in between, dance numbers between shoots, a schedule that would exhaust most people just to read. Then came a four-year-old named Malti Marie, and everything shifted.

What Priyanka said at Cannes Lions

Speaking at the Cannes Lions 2026 conference in France this week, Priyanka Chopra addressed how her approach to work has changed since welcoming her daughter. “Your priorities really change. I don’t just pack my bags and go off for a movie anymore,” she told the audience. “I don’t do five films a year. I don’t travel the way I used to. I’m really, really selective about the time I spend and who I spend it with.”

She also touched on the ongoing adjustment of being a working mother. “I’m navigating working-mom life. I have so much more respect for my mother now,” she said.

Background: About Malti Marie

Priyanka Chopra tied the knot with Nick Jonas in December 2018. The couple welcomed their daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, on January 15, 2022, via surrogacy. Malti spent 110 days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit after birth, a period Priyanka has described as deeply difficult. She has referred to Malti as her “miracle baby.”

Malti is now four years old.

This is not the first time Priyanka has spoken about recalibrating her career around family. In an interview for Marie Claire’s March 2026 issue, she said she used to want to “juggle all the balls and do all the things,” but now listens to her gut more and is more willing to say no to projects. She also said she often feels anxious when Malti is away from her, even for school.
