Pune businessman Ketan Vishal Agarwal’s death was initially treated as an “accident” but when his family raised doubts, the police began to closely examine key evidence, including CCTV footage from the Lohagad Fort.
While going through the footage, investigators stumbled upon a man wearing a hoodie, with the hood pulled over his head and covering his face.

This raised suspicion as when they checked the weather, they found it was 33 degree Celsius on the morning of June 18.
The man wearing a hoodie on sweltering 33 degree Celsius day was the key clue. He was later identified as Chetan Chowdhury, the alleged boyfriend of Siya Goyal, Ketan’s fiancee.
“During scrutiny of CCTV footage from the foothills, we noticed a person wearing a hoodie with his head covered and also wearing headphones. This raised suspicion because such clothing was unusual considering the weather conditions,” HT quoted a police official as saying.
Later, the police discovered another unusual detail and found out that Chetan had left his mobile phone at his home in an apparent bid to avoid digital tracking.
After collecting key evidences, Police confronted both Chetan and Siya and during the course of interrogation, they allegedly admitted to the crime.
Both have been sent to a seven-day police custody and further investigation is currently underway.
Chetan’s father claims son innocent
Meanwhile, Babulal Chowdhury, the father of the accused, Chetan Chowdhury, has insisted that his son had no role in the tragedy that unfolded at Lohagad Fort on June 18, 2026.
He claimed that his son is being made a scapegoat in a case that is far more complex than it initially appeared. He stated that Chetan had simply informed his parents he was heading out for a meeting, offering no details about his destination or companions.
“We have never seen the girl in question and know absolutely nothing about her,” Babulal stated, referring to Ketan’s fiancee, Siya Goyal, who has also been arrested.
“In fact, I only found out her name, Siya, yesterday. He is being falsely framed and has no involvement in this matter.”
According to him, Chetan told the family that he was merely a bystander and was standing far away when Ketan fell.
“He clearly told us that he did not push the boy and was standing far away. The girl was the one standing right there when the boy fell,” he added.
