England have named a 15-member squad featuring five potential Test debutants for the one-off women’s Test against India at Lord’s, starting on July 10. The match will be a landmark occasion for women’s cricket, becoming the first women’s Test to be played at the historic venue.
Nat Sciver-Brunt will captain England in the format for the first time, leading a squad that blends experienced names with a number of players hoping to make their Test debuts.

Veterans Heather Knight, Tammy Beaumont and Amy Jones feature in the squad, while five players — Alice Capsey, Tilly Corteen-Coleman, Mady Villiers, Grace Potts and Ellie Threlkeld — are yet to play a Test match for England. Potts and Threlkeld are also uncapped at international level.
Several players who were part of England’s most recent Test appearance against Australia in the 2024-25 Women’s Ashes have not been included. Sophia Dunkley, Bess Heath, Danni Wyatt-Hodge, Charlie Dean, Ryana MacDonald-Gay and Kate Cross are among the notable omissions.
“We have selected a strong Test squad under the leadership of Nat Sciver-Brunt for what will be another historic few days at Lord’s for women’s cricket,” said Clare Connor, ECB managing director of women’s cricket.
“Test cricket is a rare and wonderfully challenging experience in the women’s game and I know how proud our players are to represent England in this format. For the 11 women who will get the chance to be the first to enjoy that feeling at Lord’s, it will be a moment to savour,” Connor added.
The Test will be another significant milestone for women’s cricket, with Lord’s set to host its first women’s red-ball international as England and India renew their rivalry in the longest format.
