Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) on Thursday issued show-cause notices to six rebel MPs, who skipped the key parliamentary party meeting held in New Delhi amid the growing buzz over a split in the party.

Speaking to mediapersons after the meeting, party MP Anil Desai confirmed the disciplinary action against the rebel MPs, saying show-cause notices have been issued to all absentees.

“The meeting just got over, show-cause notice was sent today.” When asked what kind of action would be taken against those who did not attend, he said, “Action is this only: show-cause notice. Why didn’t you come? That will be asked. Notice will be given to everyone who didn’t come.”

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Rajabhau Parag Prakash Waje, who attended the meeting, said that six MPs remained absent.

When asked whether Shiv Sena President Eknath Shinde or anyone from his party contacted him, he said, “No one contacted me… I didn’t meet anyone, and no one even came to meet me.”

Shiv Sena (UBT) has nine Lok Sabha MPs, including Arvind Sawant, Anil Desai, Sanjay Jadhav, Omprakash Rajenimbalkar, Bhausaheb Wakchaure, Sanjay Dina Patil, Sanjay Deshmukh, Nagesh Patil Ashtikar and Rajabhau Waje.

Arvind Sawant, Anil Desai and Rajabhau Waje were the only three parliamentarians who were oresent during today’s meeting.

Senior party leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut has claimed that the rebel MPs have been offered Rs 50 crore each to defect. According to Raut, an advance payment of Rs 15 crore has already been made to the MPs.

Raut has also hurled abuses at the rebel MPs, calling them “ga***u” and “bho****e”. He even asked mediapersons not to cut the part of his statement where he abuses them.
