Bollywood dancer and performer Nora Fatehi attended the FIFA World Cup 2026 for the first time as a spectator. She was present at the Brazil vs Morocco Group C match and shared a series of videos and pictures from the game on social media. She captioned her post: “Morocco Vs Brazil. 1st game of the World Cup.”
Fatehi was seen carrying the Moroccan flag and singing the national anthem before the match kicked off. She also posed for photographs in the stands as the game progressed.

Her roots in Morocco
Fatehi was born in Toronto to a Moroccan family and built her career in Bollywood, connecting South Asian, Arab, and North African audiences. Her attendance at the match was not just that of a celebrity fan. It was a personal moment tied to her cultural identity.
Fatehi has been vocal about her connection to Morocco in the past. When Morocco played in the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations final against Senegal, she took to Instagram to express how deeply the match affected her emotionally and culturally. She called the final one of the most “unethical” matches she had ever seen after Senegal won 1-0 in extra time.
About the match
Brazil and Morocco played out a 1-1 draw in their Group C clash at MetLife Stadium, the venue that will host the World Cup final.
Morocco struck first in the 21st minute. Ismael Saibari chipped goalkeeper Alisson Becker to finish a rapid counter-attack, with Brahim Diaz providing the assist. Brazil drew level eleven minutes later through Vinicius Junior. The Real Madrid star received the ball from Bruno Guimaraes on the left side of the area, cut back onto his right foot, and hammered into the far corner.
The second half was marked by intense physical play and tactical changes. Brazil manager Carlo Ancelotti swapped booked players Casemiro and Roger Ibanez at halftime to manage yellow cards. Morocco’s goalkeeper Yassine Bounou proved pivotal late in the match with a vital double save.
Vinicius Junior scored his 10th international goal for Brazil with this strike, though his 100 percent winning record when scoring for Brazil came to an end with the draw. Achraf Hakimi made his 11th appearance for Morocco at the FIFA World Cup, equalling the most by any African player in the tournament’s history, level with Cameroon’s Francois Omam-Biyik and Ghana’s Asamoah Gyan.
Fatehi’s World Cup journey
Fatehi’s presence at the tournament runs deeper than fandom. She performed at the FIFA World Cup 2026 opening ceremony in Canada alongside Palestinian-Chilean singer Elyanna. She also features on the official FIFA World Cup 2026 album with the track Siir Siir, created alongside music producer Sanjoy and French artist Vegedream. The title is a reference to a popular Moroccan football chant meaning “go, go.”
The inspiration for the track came when Fatehi attended AFCON matches in Morocco in January 2026. She heard nearly 70,000 fans chant “Siir Siir” inside the stadium during every game. She said the energy from that moment prompted her to reach out to producer Sanjoy to build a World Cup anthem around the chant.
This is not her first time associated with a FIFA World Cup. She previously performed Light The Sky at the FIFA World Cup 2022 closing ceremony in Qatar.
