Ahead of the theatrical release of ‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’, director Imtiaz Ali and singer Diljit Dosanjh have released a special video for the song ‘Kya Kamaal Hai’. The video will play during the end credits of the film when it releases in cinemas on June 12, 2026.
The video is built around the theme of displacement and refugee experiences. It draws attention to people who have been forced to leave their homes due to war and conflict. The subject ties directly into the film’s narrative, which is rooted in the trauma of Partition and how that experience echoes in displacement crises across the world today.

The video opens with a quote from an unnamed refugee: “If I had a choice between death and leaving my home, I would have gladly chosen death. Unfortunately, I did not have such a choice.”

Imtiaz Ali described the video as a tribute to those affected by forced migration. He said the song acknowledges the pain of displacement while also functioning as a “cry of hope” and a salute to human resilience.
Diljit Dosanjh participated in the shoot while currently on his AURA Tour. He made specific time to film the video, indicating his personal investment in the project and its theme.
‘Kya Kamaal Hai’ brings together Diljit Dosanjh as the performer, A.R. Rahman as the composer, Irshad Kamil as the lyricist, and Imtiaz Ali as the director. The collaboration is an extension of the film’s core creative team.
