Several global leaders have congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on being India’s longest-serving elected PM to serve consecutive terms.

Italian PM Giorgia Meloni has extended congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on being India’s longest continuously serving PM.
While sharing a photograph of the two global leaders, Meloni wrote on X, “Congratulations to @narendramodi who today becomes the longest-serving elected Prime Minister in the history of India. It has been a pleasure to meet again in Rome in recent weeks and to launch together a Special Strategic Partnership that looks to the future to create new opportunities for our Nations and our peoples.”

Apart from her, Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake also congratulated Prime Minister Modi on X.
“I extend my warm congratulations to Prime Minister @narendramodi on becoming the longest-serving elected Prime Minister in the history of India. Sri Lanka values our close partnership and looks forward to further strengthening the enduring ties between our two nations,” he wrote.

In a personal video message, Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea, James Marape, described PM Modi as a role model and an example of leadership.
Also, Trinidad and Tobago PM Kamla Persad-Bissessar stated that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership India has evolved as a leading voice on global matters.
Moreover, three former Prime Ministers of Australia – Tony Abbott, Malcolm Turnbull and Scott Morrison – have also congratulated the Indian Prime Minister on achieving the major feat.
“Congratulations to Narendra Modi on becoming India’s longest serving PM. He hasn’t just held office, he’s dramatically improved his country, with more infrastructure, better IT, and practical things like power and sanitation extended to remote villages. Under Modi, India has become the world’s third superpower while maintaining free elections, a riotously free media and a robustly independent judiciary. But for him, and the late Shinzo Abe, there would be no Quad so the entire free world owes him a debt of gratitude,” Abbott said.

On X, Turnbull thanked Prime Minister Modi for the friendship with Australia and “for your strong and consistent support of all forms of renewable energy including pumped hydro storage.”

Morrison described PM Modi as a “true statesman who has transformed India’s economy and standing in the world.”

Notably, PM Modi on Wednesday became India’s longest-serving Prime Minister, marking 12 years at the helm of the Central government. He has now crossed former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru’s record with 4,399 days in office as an elected Prime Minister.
