A man has been arrested in Uttar Pradesh’s Bhadohi for allegedly filming children secretly and sharing their clips on social media to get more followers and earn money, police officials said on Monday, June 1.

As per the FIR, Ansari used to allegedly record private videos of children without their consent and utilised the same to gain followers on Instagram. The action was taken by the police after a complaint was filed with the district cyber crime police station through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal in April.
While investigating the matter, police officials tracked the mobile number and email ID linked to the social media account.
During preliminary investigation, it was found out that the accused is believed to have uploaded multiple videos involving children on the social media paltform between January 17 and April 6.
A case has been registered against Ansari under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita as well as Section 67B of the Information Technology Act that deals with publishing or transmitting sexually explicit material involving minors.
Further probe in the matter is currently underway.
