Despite facing multiple black swan events, India has continued to remain the world’s fastest-growing major economy, Amit Malviya said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was Wednesday conferred the FAO Agricola Medal 2026, the highest honour of the Food and Agriculture Organisation, at FAO Headquarters in Rome.
FAO Director-General QU Dongyu lauded PM Modi’s transformative leadership in India’s agriculture sector through farmer-centric reforms, strengthening food security, supporting over 110 million farmers, promoting natural farming and millets, and building robust digital public infrastructure.

Reacting to the honour, BJP leader Amit Malviya said that the award is a “recognition of India’s unwavering commitment to fighting hunger, reducing poverty, and advancing sustainable development goals globally.”

He further called it a proud moment for every Indian.

Earlier on Monday, received the Grand Cross of the Royal Norwegian Order of Merit, Norway’s highest honour under the order. King Harald V of Norway presented Modi with the honour at special ceremony in Oslo.
The Grand Cross is the highest grade of the Royal Norwegian Order of Merit and is awarded in recognition of outstanding service and contribution towards strengthening ties with Norway and the international community.
This was 32nd international honour from a foreign nation for PM Modi during his tenure as Prime Minister.
