Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s engagements in Sweden on Sunday turned into a strong pitch for India’s economic rise, with top European business leaders and global CEOs expressing growing confidence in the country’s reform-driven transformation and long-term growth potential. The discussions, held during a high-level industry round table hosted by Volvo Group, reflected Europe’s expanding commercial interest in India and its seeking deeper economic and strategic partnerships.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said senior industry leaders who interacted with PM Modi spoke positively about the pace of reforms and the visible changes they had witnessed in India over the last several years.
CEOs praise India’s transformation
Addressing reporters after the European Round Table industry meeting, MEA Secretary (West) Sibi George said the interaction saw leading business figures openly acknowledge India’s economic transformation and policy continuity.
According to George, CEOs and senior corporate leaders repeatedly underlined their interest in expanding engagement with India and credited sustained reforms for improving the country’s business environment.

He said the industry leaders noted that India had undergone a major transformation in recent years and appreciated the consistency of economic reforms pursued over time. The MEA official added that the executives viewed these changes as key drivers behind India’s growing attractiveness as an investment and manufacturing destination.
The meeting brought together PM Modi, Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, senior European industry leaders, and representatives from major Indian and European companies.
Sweden visit marks third leg of five-nation tour
PM Modi is currently in Sweden as part of the third leg of his ongoing five-nation tour aimed at strengthening India’s diplomatic, economic and strategic ties with key global partners.
After concluding his engagements in Sweden, the Prime Minister is scheduled to travel to Norway today for the next phase of the visit.
