Gupta said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the Northeast has been brought firmly into the mainstream of the country’s development journey. Assam is witnessing rapid growth in infrastructure, connectivity, tourism, education and employment, while playing an increasingly significant role in the overall progress of the country.

According to Gupta, Sarma’s second straight term is the result of his hard work, dedication to public service and the people’s continued faith. “The people have once again endorsed the politics of development, stability and national interest,” she said, adding that the vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ and a developed Assam would gain even greater momentum in the years to come.

Meanwhile, CM Gupta offered prayers at the revered Kamakhya temple and other temples like Baglamukhi Temple and the revered Umananda Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.
