In a shocking incident, a man travelling to Ghotki district in Pakistan’s Sindh to attend his minor daughter’s funeral, was shot dead by unidentified robbers in the wee hours of Saturday, May 9.
According to local police officials, the incident took place near Punjab Bus Adda on Karachi’s Super Highway, ARY News reported.

The victim has been identified as Mansoor Ahmed, who along with his brother Rashid Ali was waiting for a coach to their hometown in Ghotki.
The armed robbers, who are yet to be identified, attempted to snatch valuables from the two brothers. During the robbery attempt, the victims showed resistance forcing the suspets to open fire.
Mansoor died on the spot, while his brother Rashid received bullet injuries.
After the accused ran away, the police arrived at the spot and shifted the body and the injured person to a nearly hospital. Also, officials are believed to have recovered 9mm pistol shells from the crime scene.
As per local media, injured Rashid Ali shared that he and his brother were travelling to their village after hearing about the tragic demise of Mansoor’s young daughter in Ghotki. The two of them were waiting for coach at the bus terminal when the accused attacked them.
“We were sitting on the footpath under the bridge waiting for the coach when robbers arrived,” he said.
Rashid said that his brother attempted to resist the robbery and a scuffle broke out. After that, the robbers opened fire and escaped on a motorcycle.

Police officials said that during initial investigation into the matter, it appears to be a case of robbery resistance.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
