She will now represent the constituency as a Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA).

According to rules, any person elected to two houses is required to resign from one house within 14 days of getting elected.

Meanwhile, a by-election will shortly be announced soon for the vacant Rajya Sabha seat vacated by Sunetra Pawar.

The Ajit Pawar-led NCP leadership is yet to decide who should be the candidate for the Rajya Sabha byelection.

It may be recalled that Maharashtra Deputy CM Sunetra Pawar’s elder son Parth Pawar took oath as a Rajya Sabha MP recently.

Parth Pawar was elected to the Rajya Sabha with the backing of the Ajit Pawar-led NCP’s strength in the Maharashtra state assembly, where the party has 40 MLAs.
