Assam Election Results 2026 LIVE: As the first light of May 4 spreads across Assam, counting centres begin to open their gates, and a quiet tension settles over the state. From 8 in the morning, officials start the long process of counting votes across all 126 assembly constituencies. Inside strong rooms, sealed machines are in place under tight watch. Outside, party workers, candidates, anxious supporters wait for the first signs of who is leading.
The voting took place in a single phase on April 9, and the people responded in large numbers. More than 85 percent of eligible voters cast their ballots.
