India will look to bounce back from a slow start to the season as a strong, Olympic-core squad gears up for the ISSF Shotgun World Cup 2026 in Almaty, Kazakhstan, beginning Sunday.

Headlining the 20-member Indian contingent are Olympians Anantjeet Singh Naruka, Raiza Dhillon and Mairaj Ahmad Khan, all set to anchor India’s campaign in the second leg of the global series.

The Almaty World Cup marks a crucial opportunity for India to regain momentum after a medal-less outing in the opening leg in Tangier, Morocco. With 284 shooters from 42 nations competing, the stage is set for a high-intensity contest.

Anantjeet returns to the squad after skipping the Morocco leg and will spearhead India’s challenge in men’s skeet alongside the experienced Mairaj. In women’s skeet, Raiza Dhillon will lead the charge.

There are notable changes in the trap squad, with established names like Bhowneesh Mendiratta, Prithviraj Tondaiman and Kynan Chenai missing out this time. In their absence, Vivaan Kapoor will carry India’s hopes in men’s trap.

The competition carries added significance, as gold medallists in each event will secure direct qualification for the ISSF World Cup Final in Rome later this year.

India have also named eight shooters under the Ranking Points Only (RPO) category, reflecting a mix of experience and bench strength as the team builds towards bigger targets this season.

Where to watch: Finals will be streamed live on Olympics.com, with no TV broadcast available in India.
