UP Congress chief Ajay Rai hospitalised after fainting at party event in Lucknow

Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Rai was rushed to hospital on Friday after he fainted during a party programme at the state headquarters.

According to party sources, Rai suddenly lost consciousness and his condition deteriorated. He was immediately taken to Medanta Hospital, where he was admitted to the emergency ward and is being treated under the supervision of specialist doctors.

Reports said Rai had complained of pain and discomfort during the event before collapsing shortly thereafter.

Director of Medanta Lucknow, Dr. Rakesh Kapoor, said that Rai was brought to the hospital after his health suddenly worsened.

“He was admitted to the emergency ward after complaining of chest pain, restlessness and fainting. Treatment has begun under expert supervision,” he said.
