As per sources, the bodies of a couple of dogs were sent to the State Veterinary Hospital at Jehangirabad in Bhopal for conducting a postmortem to ascertain the exact cause of death.

Dog lovers alleged that some residents of the apartments, who hate dogs, have poisoned them.

Police officials at the Shyamla Hills police station confirmed that some NGO members and dog lovers submitted a complaint application against unidentified persons in the matter at the police station.

The police, however, did not register an FIR in the matter immediately.

In a similar incident in February this year, 12 stray dogs were poisoned to death by hitherto unidentified miscreants in the same apartments.
