Be wary, even if BJP gets one seat in TN elections, it will have its own CM: Kejriwal

Urging the Tamil Nadu electorate to reject the BJP and the NDA in toto, former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday cautioned them to be wary of the saffron party, alleging that it would have its own Chief Minister even if it gets a lone legislator in the assembly elections.

“I want to tell the people of Tamil Nadu that they should be wary of the BJP and the NDA, because the NDA is essentially the BJP and not an alliance led by the AIADMK. I am sure that people of Tamil Nadu will not vote for the NDA, the AIADMK, or the BJP. But, theoretically, even if the BJP gets just one seat, it will install its own Chief Minister, as it did in Bihar with Nitish Kumar,” the AAP leader said while addressing the media after winding up his two-day campaign for the DMK-led alliance.

Tamil Nadu is going to the polls on April 23 (Thursday), and Kejriwal held a roadshow along with Chief Minister MK Stalin in Chennai the other day. Earlier, Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejaswi Yadav also campaigned along with Stalin in Tiruppur.

Explaining his viwe, Kejriwal said the BJP has not been able to make a mark in the Dravidian heartland for years due to what he described as its politics of hate and communal polarisation, which he claimed have failed to yield the desired results. “People of Tamil Nadu hate BJP and its divisive, vicious politics. That is why the BJP has not been able to make a mark in Tamil Nadu. This time, they have 27 seats. They are in alliance with AIADMK. But everyone knows that the AIADMK is completely in the crutches of the BJP,” he said in response to a question.

According to him, the BJP, if elected to power, would undo all the good works of the Stalin government as was the case in Delhi. “Last year, in Delhi, people voted for BJP. `But within one year, people are fed up. All the good works we have done in the field of education, health, water have been undone,” he claimed.

To a question on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s criticism of the DMK’s dynastic politics, Kejriwal’s counter was: “He should first look at his own party and look inside the kind of dynasty. I can give any number of examples. What is Amit Shah’s son doing? Jay Shah. When they have to find a chairman for the BCCI or ICC, they look at their own sons. What is Rajnath Singh’s son doing? What are their leaders’ sons and daughters doing?”

Regarding corruption, he charged the BJP with being the most corrupt party today. “There are so many examples of how everything is being given away to Modiji’s friends,” he claimed and debunked the BJP’s claim of double-engine government, saying all the engines have failed. “For 30 years, the BJP has been in power in Gujarat. Roads and schools are in bad condition. There is so much corruption. Wherever the BJP is in power, the state has been ruined,” he alleged.

On Stalin, he said “Whenever there is a crisis at the national level, especially when the national government is acting in a dictatorial manner, whenever there is an assault on federalism and democracy, Stalin’s voice has been a very strong voice at the national level. that the abuses of Stalin have no meaning since people love him. Further, he argued that there is no need for an alternative – second or third.
