The rise of national bipolarity: Why are regional parties falling apart
Apparently, the Samajwadi Party is also getting jittery, worried about something similar happening to it, especially with UP Assembly elections around the corner.

Senior BJP leader and the party’s National Council Member Sanjay Tandon today strongly criticized the Opposition for torpedoing the landmark Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, terming their stance in the Parliament as “deeply regressive and politically motivated.”
In a statement, Tandon said that at a time when the nation is moving decisively towards gender equality and inclusive governance, such obstruction reflects a lack of genuine commitment to women’s empowerment.

Tandon asserted that the Women’s Reservation Bill represents a transformative step aimed at ensuring adequate representation of women in legislative bodies, particularly those belonging to marginalized and weaker sections of society.

“The Opposition has once again exposed its double standards by paying lip service to women’s rights while actively stalling a historic reform that could have empowered millions,” he added.
Reiterating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s steadfast resolve, Tandon emphasized that the government remains fully committed to the wholesome empowerment of women across all strata. He highlighted several initiatives undertaken in recent years that have enhanced women’s participation in governance, improved financial inclusion, and strengthened social security.
“Under the visionary leadership of the Prime Minister, women are not just beneficiaries but active agents of change. From entrepreneurship to education, and from grassroots governance to national policymaking, the government has consistently worked to create opportunities for women to excel,” Tandon said.
Calling upon the Opposition to rise above narrow political interests, Tandon urged all parties to support measures that advance the cause of gender justice.
“Women of India deserve better than political roadblocks. The BJP will continue to champion their aspirations and work tirelessly to ensure their rightful place in nation-building,” he added.
