‘Perturbed’ with Netanyahu, Trump says he wants to meet Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei
Trump said that he was "perturbed" at Netanyahu's military escalation in Lebanon.
According to United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO), IRGC gunboats fired upon two vessels attempting to sail through the Strait of Hormuz.
At least two vessels have reportedly come under gunfire while attempting to cross the Strait of Hormuz, according to United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO).
“The Master of a Tanker reports being approached by 2 IRGC gun boats, no VHF challenge that then fired upon the tanker. Tanker and crew are reported safe,” the UKMTO said on X.

The incident took place 20NM northeast of Oman and comes hours after Iran said that it will again block the Strait of Hormuz, citing a US blockade of its ports.

After the announcement of a fragile 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi had announced that Tehran will reopen the Hormuz Strait for commercial vessels.
However, US President Donald Trump claimed that while Iran has reopened the Strait, Washington will continue its military blockade of Iranian ports.
In response, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said that the control of the Strait of Hormuz has now “returned to its previous state” because of the US’s continuing blockade of Iranian ports.
In a separate statement, the Khatam al-Anbiya military headquarters of Iran cited “breaches of trust” by the Americans.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran, following previous agreements met in the negotiations conducted in good faith, agreed to a managed passage of a limited number of oil and commercial ships through the Strait of Hormuz,” the Khatam al-Anbiya military headquarters said in the statement.
“Unfortunately, the Americans, with their repeated breaches of trust that are part of their history, continue their acts of piracy and maritime theft under the pretext of a so-called blockade.
“This strategic waterway is under strict management and control by the armed forces. As long as the United States does not end the restriction on the complete freedom of movement for vessels from Iran to their destinations and back, the situation in the Strait of Hormuz will remain under strict control and will remain as it was before,” the statement added.
IDF accuses Hezbollah of ceasefire violations in Lebanon
Earlier today, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) alleged several incidents of ceasefire violations by Iranian proxy Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.
“HEZBOLLAH CEASEFIRE VIOLATION: Since the ceasefire came into effect, IDF soldiers south of the Yellow Line in southern Lebanon identified several incidents in which terrorists violated the ceasefire understandings by approaching from north of the Yellow Line toward IDF soldiers, posing an immediate threat,” the IDF said on X.
The IDF further confirmed launching “precise strikes against the terrorists and terrorist infrastructure sites.”
The Israeli military asserted that it is operating in accordance with the directives of the political echelon.
“Accordingly, the IDF is authorized to take the necessary measures in self-defense against threats, while ensuring the security of Israeli civilians and the soldiers deployed in the area. Actions taken in self-defense and to remove immediate threats are not restricted by the ceasefire. The IDF will not allow harm to Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers and will take all necessary measures to ensure their safety,” it added.
Earlier, Lebanon’s army had accused Israel of multiple ceasefire violations just hours after a 10-day truce came into effect. The Lebanese Army claimed that Israeli military targeted southern regions.
